Today i woke up and felt that i want to be like Audrey Hepburn who's that?go google i love her! maybe because our body figure is almost the same, slender. She's a fashion icon, she was even placed in the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame, she deserved it! *smile* One thing i like about her is that she's not a over-to-the-top type of artist and even if she does she can pull it off easily with so much charisma. She is one gorgeous and classic women so yeah anyway, the nearest i can get is my little back dress and modified it a bit and taaadaaaaa!!! i dont even look like her, not even close. Since my post title is about "Ukelele and Fashion" i'm not even so sure if Audrey Hepburn knows how to play Ukelele. i dont think so.hhmmmmm.

  • Little black dress (A-cut skirt with lace )
  • Turquoise Belt (i think im obsessed with this belt recently)
  • Brown Eyeshadow and Very light pink blusher just to ENHANCE my face not to transform me into a some kind of unknown creature to avoid me looking pale..
Audrey Hepburn with her iconic little black dress by Givenchy. isn't she lovely? :)

When you run this kind of blog with that title, the last thing you want to have is a broken Ukelele. Correction UkeleleS. Both of my ukuleles are still under construction, how did it happened? It’s a long story and my 3rd ukelele is currently not with me so I cannot cover any song at this moment. pfffff! I’m currently  trying to stay positive at the same time resolved to save some money to buy a good quality-plug in ukulele with a cover so that it’ll be easier for me to bring it anywhere without having to worry and injure my ukes.

So as of now while waiting for me to fix my ukes  ill be posting for the mean time on something that I love about other than ukulele , fashion. I know I’m not the best looking girl in town not as of now  and i know that i'm not the best person with a great sense of fashion in town but I love to play around with the way I dress without having to bare it all. I love anything related to vintage classic, bohemian, anything weird, odd and modest. I wanted to share it with you so hope you’ll enjoy it! here's 2 set of attire i wore to work this week..

  • Top: Denim Blouse ( always been a big fan of Denim!)
  • Black Ballerina Skirt. (don't get me wrong, i don't do ballet dancing though some ppl thought i'm a ballerina, tall and skinny but seriously, there are times where i wonder why is it that my mother never send us for ballet class? then again i quickly realized that we are Hispanic, we don't do ballet, we do CHA-CHA!)
  • Classic Brown belt
  • Hair: Braid your hair once in a blue moon. it's an old way of telling "i had a bad hair day" not really
  • Shoes: zig-zag colourful flat shoes to add some colour to my 'dark and serious' outfit

  • Top: White long sleeves ruffle blouse
  • Hair: Blue bling2 hair clip (my colleague bought this all the way from Taiwan)
  • Shoes: same
  • Pants: Khaki pants (recently i'm lovin this type of pants)with Turquoise Belt (love the colour)

Bula Fiji!

Time flew so fast! 3 weeks ago I was in Fiji with my team to attend a music Seminar. Well I should write something about this gorgeous Island and its loving people. I knew beforehand that Fiji and Hawaii have this  thing in common (other than the white sand beaches and the Coconut trees and etc etc) is the  UKELELE!!:) so I was pretty excited to find one and bring it home as a souvenir.

The moment we landed at the airport early in the morning, We were greeted by a group of guys singing  songs welcoming all of us ( trust me Fijian can sing/harmonize their voices very well even without music) even before I saw their faces from a far I can hear a ukulele sound and bang! The next thing i know we were beside them taking picture.

So yeah, back to my ukelele story. They do have ukuleles and the price is not cheap since their currency is higher than ours so I was hesitant whether to buy or not but as usual I would end up buying things everywhere I go typical me to be honest I didn’t found the one that I really fall in love with, there’s a lot of ukes that are for decoration but im looking for one that I can play.

Anyways, here’s the list that I like about Fiji:

  • The first word you will learn the moment you arrive is “BULA!” meaning HELLO! and believe me you will hear this word everyday, seriously everyday. Somehow I felt that it’s being overused in a way but who cares right? As long as it makes me and others happy, right on! BULA! BULA! BULA! :)

  • The people are extremely friendly, even strangers will greet you. I like the atmosphere in Fiji not only the people are friendly you can also feel this “Aloha” spirit everywhere and the people are very simple, laid back and chill type of people.

  • I like how the people are preserving their culture compared to other places, uh-huh, not mentioning any names.and I can see just by their simple gesture that they love their country because they don’t throw rubbish anywhere (ouch!) and they can walk barefoot in the city, yes you can.

  • I like their Fijian traditional food, veggies, fruits, cassava, minus the portion of their meal, its huge.

  • I love, love, love the fact that most people in that place can dance! I know right, not only that, they can sing. When I say they can sing, they seriously can sing. So yeah, I envy them in a good way.

  • I’m not a beach person since I don’t know how to swim yeah..yeah you can laugh but I have to admit that the beaches are beautiful and guess what??? I went snorkeling! it was really a breakthrough for me. Thanks to my friend she convinced me that there won’t be any shark. Oh, I’m proud of myself (applause)

THE END...
